I believe that EVERYTHING should be modular. Modular systems make everything better.
A building or furniture piece that is made up of modules, will let us have a clearer conversation about how the project comes together. Modules lead to freedom. When modules fit together, they bring joy to everyone involved.
When I was a kid, we had an Italian modular sofa system in the Living Room (see above diagram, drawn from memory). I remember asking my Dad, an architect, why we couldn’t have a normal couch like the other kids. This is when I learned about the freedom of the modular system. Every few Saturdays, we rearranged the modular seats in the Living Room. It was great. And I learned a lot.
